Following its domination of the plasma rifle market, Rearsen Intergalactic Arms Corporation (RIAC) was contracted by the Phiela government to produce a series of lightweight and dependable laser rifles for the military. The LR-8 model incorporates a secondary attenuator which dramatically increases beam intensity.
